Meet Kate Topuz

DDS

Dr. Kate Topuz joined Holger Dental Group in 2022 and officially became one of our doctors in 2025 after graduating from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry’s internationally renowned PASS program for foreign-trained dentists.

Originally from Ukraine, Dr. Kate earned her dental degree from the Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy, where she led research in prosthetic and implant dentistry. After moving to the U.S. in 2021, she began working alongside Dr. Holger, assisting him chairside and learning closely from him throughout her years in the PASS program.

Kate has become an essential part of our team—not just as a clinician but as a problem-solver and a key contributor in developing advances in digital workflows. She’s one of the hardest workers we know, and her dedication shows in everything she does. She has advanced training in digital dentistry, 3D printing, Botox and fillers, esthetic restorations, and she continues to pursue cutting-edge education around the globe.

Dr. Kate believes deeply in comprehensive care and the power of dentistry to change lives. She brings a warm, thoughtful, and modern approach to patient care and is passionate about blending esthetics, health, and the latest technology to support long-term outcomes.

Outside of the office, Kate enjoys reading, hiking, baking (which means even more hiking), and exploring new places and experiences through travel. We’re thrilled to officially reintroduce Dr. Kate as a DDS and can’t wait for you to see her in this next chapter!

Q & A with Dr. Kate

Q: What’s a common dental myth you’d love to bust?A: “If my teeth look and feel fine, they must be healthy — so no need to see the dentist.”
In reality, the more we see you, the less we have to do. A lot of dental issues don’t hurt until they’ve already done damage — like cavities or gum disease. Seeing us when everything seems fine is actually the best way to keep it that way.
Q: Do you have any hidden talents/hobbies?A: Beautiful handwriting — which is generally frowned upon in the medical world. Pretty sure it almost got my dental school application flagged.
Q: If your life was a movie, what’s the title?A: “Brace Yourself” — the epic journey toward perfect alignment.
Q: If you could instantly become an expert in anything, what would it be?A: Carpentry — I’d love to make my own furniture. There’s something satisfying about building things with your own hands.
Q: Favorite TV show or book right now?A: TV: Ted Lasso
Book: The Sun Also Rises
Q: First job ever?A: Mail carrier in high school.
Q: What’s one thing on your bucket list?A: See Arctic Monkeys perform live. Ideally, before their 50-year reunion tour.
Q: What’s a food you’ll never eat (again)?A: Ukrainian meat jelly. Don’t tell my grandma, but I only pretended to like it.
